AHANA has released a Discussion Paper about ways to strengthen the Allied Health Assistant (AHA) workforce in Australia through occupational co-regulation, following on from its online co-regulation webinar of 16 August 2023. The recording is available at the bottom of this news article.
The Discussion Paper is provided here for review.
AHANA's consultation process will commence with a public webinar/discussion on co-regulation on 16 August 2023, at 3pm AEST. We'd love you to join the discussion - you can register here for the webinar.
Following initial consultation, AHANA will seek to enter into discussions with departments and funders about specific government funding programs, with a view to securing in-principle agreement to recognise AHANA's certification scheme as the basis for determining who is a qualified AHA for the purposes of a co-regulatory arrangement.
We'd value your feedback on the Discussion Paper. Whether you're able to attend the webinar or not, you can submit your feedback on the Discussion Paper via an online form. Written feedback can be provided up to and including 31 August 2023.
Note added 1 September 2023 - AHANA extended the consultation period to 12 September 2023.
Note added 13 September 2023 - AHANA has now closed consultation on this proposal so the linked feedback form has been de-activated.
