Register of Allied Health Assistants

Register of Allied Health Assistants (AHAs)

The AHANA Register of Allied Health Assistants is a public directory of practising AHANA members who have chosen to list their professional details.

The register helps employers, health services and members of the public identify Allied Health Assistants who have committed to the professional standards of the Allied Health Assistants National Association (AHANA).

AHAs listed on this register are members of AHANA and have agreed to uphold the Association’s standards of conduct and professional practice.

Why the Register Exists

Unlike many allied health professions, Allied Health Assistants are not regulated through a national registration scheme.

The AHANA Register provides a voluntary way for AHAs to demonstrate their commitment to professional standards, ethical practice and ongoing professional development.

For employers and health services, the register offers:

  • A way to identify AHANA members in their region
  • Greater confidence in the standards expected of AHANA members
  • A starting point for finding experienced Allied Health Assistants

Important Notes About the Register

Please note:

  • The register is not a complete list of all Allied Health Assistants in Australia.
  • Only AHANA practising members who have opted to appear in the register are listed.
  • Membership of AHANA is not currently mandatory to work as an Allied Health Assistant in Australia.

However, AHANA membership signals a commitment to professional standards and the ongoing development of the AHA workforce.

How to Use the Register

The search function below allows you to locate AHANA members using a postcode or geographic radius.

For best results:

  • Start with a 20 km search radius in metropolitan areas
  • Use a larger search radius in regional, rural or remote areas
  • Use a postcode rather than a suburb name
  • If searching by name, include a postcode or suburb

Some AHAs may practise across multiple locations, so expanding the search radius may help locate additional practitioners.
