Peak Body

The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is the peak body for the self-regulating profession of Social Work, in Australia.

AASW has released Position Statement on the role and management of Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) in the facilitation of more effective social work services. However, that Position Statement is only available to AASW members. If you provide social work assistance, please contact your supervising and delegating Social Worker for further information.

  • The SA Health Allied Health Practice Profile: Social Work is a resource for the provision of Social Work services to SA Health clients, and includes guidance on the utilisation of, and scope of work for, AHAs.
